HANDS HIGH / LET THE SOUND OF HEAVEN

What’s chill to me is to hear someone take a beat, flip it and make it something else. In this case, Andy Mineo took an old Busta Rhymes beat, tweeked it and here ya go!! “Hand’s High” is high energy track with as always, great lyrics!! Andy has a show called “Saturday Morning Car-Tunez” that you can check out on reachrecords.com or YouTube. The episodes are alot of fun and show the path he took to make the song……check it out people!!!

The Torwalt’s met in 2006 at the Bethel School of Supernatural Worship in Redding, CA. They got married and lead worship together on a weekly basis. The album “Here on Earth” is a great worship album that has the love for the Lord come thru in each song. “Let The Sound Of Heaven” is a song full of passion to be closer to God and as they sing “Let heaven on earth be reality here, Let Your kingdom come and Your glory dwell here” it helps me to remember that we are to carry that presence with us everywhere we go, not just to church. “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” Psalm 139:7. He wants to be with us at all times and we need to remember just like a guest in our home or church, He needs and wants to be welcomed!!

I Love My Bible (Really, It’s Awesome)

God did something special last week that, I believe, will leave a lasting impression on all of us. Last Sunday night we talked about the bible, again. We learned that the bible has gone through so much to get to where it is today.

God wants to move in our city. He wants to heal the sick and restore the broken. But, that will never happen if we are a people that do not know our bible.  We do not speak on our own authority but on God’s authority. That means whenever you command God’s blessing over someone it is God’s job to follow through with His word. He is bound to His word and He cannot lie. I love that about God.

I’m so encouraged by what God is doing in our group. Continue to read, continue to immerse yourself in His word, continue to grow in the Lord. God is doing something, don’t be left behind.

Be Pure & Ascend – Sondra Meints

How awesome is it that Dave Sellick preached using Psalm 24, Pastor Scott’s favorite scripture, emphasizing the importance of what we’ve been talking about: purity. Coincidence? I think NOT!!! Psalm 24:3 says, “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” Having clean hands means to not participate in sinful acts. In other words, if somebody is doing something they shouldn’t be doing, you don’t need to be there to support them! Having a pure heart means to be sure that your intentions in whatever you do are without selfish motives, being pure. God wants us to be pure not only physically, but also in our soul (mind, will, emotions) and our spirit.

 

Think about this: If a glass bottle is thrown on the ground, it will break into pieces and can no longer be used to hold anything as its maker intended it to. However, if it is carefully placed on a stable foundation, it can be used to hold liquid, flowers, or whatever else. The same is true for us with God: His Word clarifies what is good and evil. We cannot be whole without Him and cannot come closer to Him (“ascend into the hill of the Lord”) if we do not keep ourselves pure.
